We had a wonderful week performing our Kindergarten Musical for the school and for families and friends too! You can check the SAE homepage for a link to the video of the performance.
We enjoyed working on "Ways to Make 10" in Math this week too. We played games using 10 Frames, 10 Fingers, and Counting Machines. We also learned a fun song called the "Friends of Ten" to help us remember the number combinations (friends) that make 10.
We finished up our Science Unit on Earth Materials. We really enjoyed exploring different types of rocks and soil in class. Ask your child to describe his/her favorite rock.
We are revisiting the genre of Narrative Writing during Writer's Workshop. We are preparing for 1st Grade and focusing on writing 3 sentences on one topic.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Spring Break!
The Week After Spring Break's Themes: Narrative Writing (3 sentences on one topic), Guided Reading, CVC (consonant/vowel/consonant) Words (ex. top, cat, pig, etc.), Adding: Number Combinations for numbers 1-10, & Changes in the Day Sky & Sun
Popcorn Words: went, that, must
