We had a wonderful wild week learning about real and make believe and reading Where the Wild Things Are! Thank you to all the parents that sent in donations and volunteered at the Wild Rumpus! It was so much fun and we really enjoyed our Wild Thing Stew, Wild Thing Craft, and playing Wild Things Bingo! Look for pictures in the Photo Gallery.
The class loved sharing all their Pumpkin Pal characters! Look for pictures in the photo gallery. We continued building Reading Stamina this week during Reading. We are up to 10 minutes of read to self! We also practiced reading with our Book Buddies this week too. Mrs. Wilson's 4th Grade Class will now visit us every other Thursday for Book Buddies and Tech Buddies this year. Ask your child about his/her Book Buddy.
We started our Interactive Math Journals in Math this week. We matched shapes to their names and sorted 2D and 3D shapes. We will continue comparing and describing 2D and 3D shapes next week.
We had so much fun dressing up for Red Ribbon Week and learning about Healthy Choices in Health. We discussed saying “NO” to things that are bad for us (medicine when not taken properly, drugs, alcohol,
and smoking). We also discused eating healthy foods, exercising, being a good friend, and accepting differences in others. Thank you so much to Mrs. Westney and her Dad for showing us how to make healthy choices with apples by letting the class make fresh pressed apple cider!
Next Week's Themes: Fiction & Non-Fiction Writing, Read to Self, Guided Reading/Reading Strategies, Letters Gg & ZZ, Assessing 2-D & 3-D Shapes, Veteran's Day
Popcorn Words: to, go, play
