We really enjoyed doing our Science Lab Experiment about Changes in Physical Properties! We learned that solids and liquids change forms, that temperatures can change, and that mixing materials together can also make colors change. We discussed that matter is everything and is all around us. Look in the Songs and Videos tab for a great song about Solid, Liquid, and Gas and Matter. Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to assist us!
We enjoyed practicing letters Bb & Ll this week. Have your child practice writing these letters and recognize them in stories and in the world around them.
We loved reading The Garden Zoo and seeing color words and number words "pop" up all throughout the story. We discussed that pictures can help you understand the meaning of a story just like Eagle Eye showed us last week. Have your child continue practicing popcorn words each night. Thank you to Mr. Falor for helping us make our yummy Rainbow Color Word Snack for Fun Friday this week!
We continued our unit on Shapes this week by creating pictures of things around us
using shapes like the book The Shape of
Things. Please practice the shapes skills on www.ixl.com.
I will send information about Conference Day sign ups and reminders next week. I look forward to meeting with you on Tuesday, October 14. I will have a table sitting outside of the classroom with activities if you need to bring your child(ren) with you. I will also put out the class books we have made for you to read too!
It’s Fall- As the weather is getting cooler, please remember to switch your child’s extra clothes to Fall appropriate clothing. We go out to recess before noon and it can sometimes be chilly. Please remember to send a jacket or sweater each day.
Be on the lookout for an email about a fun afterschool opportunity to meet your teachers at the Pumpkin Patch coming soon!
Next Week's Themes: Letters, Words, & Sentences, Read to Self, Predicting, Combining and Separating Shapes, Land & Water/Maps & Globes
Popcorn Words: see & in
