Wow, we had a wonderful time at the farm! Spring is the most perfect time to see all the baby animals and learn more about Animals and their Offspring. We got to feed and pet baby calves, piglets, lambs, ducks, rooster, chickens, sheep, goats, and kids. We even got to see duck and chicken eggs that were laid that morning! We saw a sheep herding demonstration by Scout, the border collie. We also got to see a cow milking demonstration and piglet races. It was a perfect day and we had an amazing time! Check out the pictures in the May Photo Gallery. Thank you so much to Mrs. Smith for helping us make soil cups for Fun Friday this week. We look forward to learning more about plants and gardens next week.
Thank you so much for all the cards, gifts, treats, and kind words this week for Teacher Appreciation Week. We feel so lucky to work in this great school and have such supportive families like you!
We have continued practicing addition and subtraction this week in Math. Have your child practice adding and subtracting numbers up to 5 at home too.
We are getting ready to write like 1st Graders and are making sure we have a capital letter at the beginning of our sentence, use finger space between words, have punctuation at the end of our sentence, and spell popcorn words from the word wall correctly. Please have your child practice writing like this at home as well.
Please look for an email from the room mom about the End of the Year Patriotic Party. The party is on Friday, May 22nd from 12:30-1:30. All parents are invited to attend. Please see the email to sign up to send in items and/or volunteer.
*If your child has a summer birthday, you can choose a day before the end of the school year to celebrate their birthday at school. Just email and let me know what day you want us to sing to your child and you are welcome to send in a birthday goodie for them (no food or candy items).
Themes for Next Week: Animals, Plants, Narrative Writing, Charlotte's Web, Addition and Subtraction
